To attend Advancing Bear Care 2016 – Omaha, "A Step in the Right Direction" you must be a bear care professional working in captive bear care, welfare or conservation.  To register for ABC 2016 – Omaha, "A Step in the Right Direction" please click on the Doubleknot link below.



Registration Fees



Full Conference Registration Fee = US$ 300. 


This fee includes:

  • Ice Breaker* event the evening of Wednesday, October 5

  • Conference Thursday – Sunday, October 6-9

  • Morning and afternoon coffee/snack breaks and lunch each day on Thursday – Saturday, October 6-8

  • Evening social event and silent auction on Thursday, October 6

  • Evening banquet on Saturday, October 8

  • Brunch/lunch on Sunday, October 9

  • Optional trip* to Lee G. Simmons Conservation Park and Wildlife Safari on the afternoon of Sunday, October 9,

    or behind the scenes tours at the zoo for those who choose to stay at the zoo instead of going to the Safari Park

  • Zoo admittance each day (including any rides on the train, tram, carousel or Skyfari)

  • 30% discount at zoo gift shops and cafes/restaurants



* When registering, be sure to let us know if you will be attending the Ice Breaker Wednesday evening and if you want to go on the optional trip to the Lee G. Simmons Conservation Park and Wildlife Safari on Sunday afternoon.  There is no extra charge for this trip, but pre-registration is required so we can plan transportation.

Wednesday, October 5 (evening Ice Breaker) = US$ 25

Thursday, October 6 (full day + evening Silent Auction/Social Event) = US$ 100 Friday, October 7 (full day) = US$ 75

Saturday, October 8 (full day + evening Banquet) = US$ 100

Sunday, October 9 (morning + optional tours) = US$ 50

Includes access to all conference activities, food, transportation, Program & Proceedings, and name badge for that day.

Cancellation Policy


A $25 cancellation fee will be assessed if the cancellation is received by September 11, 2016.  No refund will be given for cancellations after September 11 as numbers for catering and transportation will already be set and the Bear Care Group will be responsible for paying those costs in full.  We are happy to make a substitution, however, if prior notice is given.
