Shaping the Future 2023 Webinar Recording

As the science of husbandry and management of wildlife under human care evolves, an increasing number of facilities are adopting behavior-based husbandry practices. Challenges often arise when husbandry or management practices evolve; examples may range from insufficient resources (i.e., time, staff) to shifting internal cultures.

This 1 day webinar includes a series of invited speakers. The first speaker discusses the development of behavior-based husbandry and enrichment programs for bears, based on an article the BCG published in 2023. Each of the following speakers continue the discussion on how they have implemented these programs in real-life including ideas and methods to overcome various challenges they have faced.
